Lincolnshire law firm support The Buddy Bag Foundation
Chattertons Solicitors and Wealth Management volunteers proudly supported The Buddy Bag Foundation by successfully completing the ‘BBF Challenge Box’.
The Buddy Bag Foundation was created in response to the rising number of children who enter emergency care after fleeing violent situations at home. The Foundation supply these children with a Buddy Bag containing all the essential items a child needs, from toiletries and pyjamas to comfort items such as teddy bears and reading books. A Buddy Bag is something a child can call their own, no matter where they go.
Throughout our 8 offices, we distributed the 30 bags we were allocated. Many of our staff members were eager to get involved and volunteer to purchase items for each backpack. With a range of ages, Chattertons have successfully put together Buddy Bags for children as young as 3 all the way up to teenagers.
On Wednesday, 11th May, Chattertons Charity Committee came together at their Newark office to pack all the bags ready to send off to local Women's refuge centres.
Katherine Bunting, Chair of Chattertons Charity Committee said, "As soon as we heard about the Buddy Bag Foundation Challenge here at Chattertons it was something we all wanted to get involved with. Although our main Charity of the Year for 2022 is the Stroke Association we were happy to take part in this challenge as well alongside that. It was fun choosing the items to buy for each child and packing them, although the Buddy Bags are needed for such a sad reason. We hope they will give the children who receive them, and their mothers, a bit of joy and a feeling of support at such a difficult time."
