Stamford Mercury Business Awards 2022

Chattertons were once again honoured to be a main sponsor of the Rutland and Stamford Mercury Business Awards 2022 and judge of the Large Business of the Year category.

The finalists, main partners, category and associate sponsors, judges and guests gathered at Greetham Valley on Friday, September 16th to celebrate all that is great about business in the Stamford and Rutland area.

A minute's silence was observed at the beginning of the night in tribute to Queen Elizabeth II and a toast was also made to King Charles III.

Matt Fowler, Partner in the Corporate department at Chattertons Stamford office, had the pleasure of visiting a variety of local businesses that had been shortlisted for the Large Business of the Year category.

Matt said. “This is always a hard category to judge and the applicants were particularly strong this year. All the finalists demonstrated growth and a sustainable strategy for taking each business forward in what are ever changing economic circumstances. These circumstances present unique challenges to each of the finalists and they have their own strategy for dealing with them to maintain the momentum they have generated over the last 24 months in a post Covid era.”

The winner of the Large Business of the Year was awarded to the Rutland Hall Hotel and Spa. They stood out from the other applicants due to their overriding sense of a want and need to invest in its people as well as directly into its business. They had a clear strategy, which has been the driver of change and growth over the last few years.

In difficult times for all businesses, large or small, they had also managed to achieve a real sense of family and togetherness amongst its staff which has set them up well for continued growth over the coming months and years.

The shortlisted finalists were MorePeople and Clarity Stack who were both strong applicants and certainly real contenders to take the crown in the future.
