Chattertons Charity of the Year 2025

We are delighted to announce that Chattertons have chosen to support Anthony Nolan as our Charity of the Year partner this year and we aim to raise at least £10,000 throughout 2025.

Each year, Chattertons Solicitors & Wealth Management, which has eight offices across Lincolnshire and in Newark, raise funds and awareness for a charity nominated and voted for by our staff. In the past we have supported various charities, including the Stroke Association, Dementia UK and most recently our 2024 Charity of the Year Cash for Kids, Lincolnshire.

Every 14 minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with a blood cancer. A stem cell transplant from a stranger could be their only hope. In the UK, over 2,000 people need a bone marrow or stem cell transplant every year. Anthony Nolan is the UK’s leading charity that makes lifesaving connections between patients in need and incredible strangers ready to donate their stem cells.

This year’s Charity has particular importance to one of our staff members Laura Coleman-Day, Corporate Solicitor based at Chattertons Newark office. Laura’s husband, Xander was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) and required a stem cell transplant, which he received in January 2023. In the June it had become apparent that Xander was very poorly, and he had developed graft vs host disease (GvHD) in his liver. There is very little treatment out there for GvHD and Xander died on 10th February 2024 from liver, kidney and lung failure.

Laura Coleman-Day said: “While Xander's outcome was the most devastating result, thanks to Anthony Nolan and their stem cell register we were given an additional 18 months as a family. When we received the good news that there was a match for Xander, I pledged to raise as much money and awareness as possible for Anthony Nolan and the incredible work they do. I am delighted that my colleagues voted to support Anthony Nolan in 2025. We already have some fantastic ideas for fundraising events and getting the local communities involved and I am proud to be part of this partnership."

FUNDRAISING EVENTS

LAUNCH DAY: Our launch event took place on Tuesday, 21st January 2025 and saw staff members wearing green (Anthony Nolan’s brand colour) and each office marked the occasion by cutting a ribbon.

STEP INTO JANUARY: For the month of January some of our staff took on a fundraising challenge to see who can walk the most steps in a month.
