Chattertons raise over £12,000 for Dementia UK

  • Posted

Chattertons Solicitors & Wealth Management, which has eight offices across Lincolnshire and in Newark, held a series of fundraising events both in house and with clients and contacts over the past year for their chosen charity of the year for 2023, Dementia UK.

Dementia UK Admiral Nurses provide life-changing care for families affected by all forms of dementia. Today, dementia is the leading cause of death in the UK. By 2025, more than one million people in the UK will be living with this condition.

On Tuesday January 16, Lucy Dalgress-Ferron, Regional Fundraiser for Dementia UK, visited Chattertons Lincoln office where Katherine Bunting and other charity committee members met for a presentation.

Lucy Dalgress-Ferron said, “We are so grateful to Chattertons for supporting Dementia UK. One in two of us will be affected by dementia in our lifetime - either by caring for someone with the condition, developing it ourselves, or both. It can be exhausting and overwhelming, not only for the person with dementia, but also for the people caring for them, and their wider family and friends.

“Thanks to the hard work of our amazing regional corporate supporters like Chattertons, more families than ever will be able to access the life-changing support offered by our Admiral Nurses.”

Katherine Bunting, Partner and Head of Chattertons Charity Committee, said, “Our fund-raising events included sponsored walks, ten pin bowling, quizzes, bake sales, sweepstakes on Strictly Come Dancing and the World Cup, and many more. The total figure raised of at least £12,213.44, exceeds our target for the year and is a fantastic achievement.”

“We are now busy planning a calendar of fundraising events for Cash for Kids, which was chosen as the 2024 Charity of The Year following a staff vote. Our official launch day will take place on Tuesday January 23.”
